Wild Days Poetry Competition

Does your child have what it takes to become the next Shakespeare or Roald Dahl? Can they get wild with their words? Well, we need you! We're launching a Wild Days poetry competition on Monday 27 April, running until Sunday 17 May.

There will be four categories: for children aged 4 to 7; aged 8 to 11; aged 12 to 16; and one for schools. The competition is open to all those who wish to take part, whether or not they are current subscribers of Wild Days.

Schools can collectively take part and are invited to run the competition amongst their students and then submit their top five poems.

Prizes will include signed copies of books by Michaela Strachan and Nick Baker, as well as teen authors Dara McAnulty and Alex Wise, plus wildlife ID guides, wildflower seed packets and mini-nature kits!

Poetry has helped Mya-Rose, AKA Birdgirl, explain her feelings and connection with nature. It's a fantastic and creative way to express yourself, especially in these wild days. Just because our competition is over, it doesn't mean you need to stop writing, check out her video for inspiration.
